Goals:
The emphasis of the NCSC travel team program is on skill development and competition. Our goal is to teach youngsters the fundamentals of the game and to improve their technical and tactical abilities

Traveling:
Generally, NCSC teams play 8-10 games in the CJSA leagues per season. There are usually four away games. The teams will travel to neighboring towns during Spring and Fall season.
Teams will participate in at least two tournaments a year. Tournament input comes from coaches and the travel director of the club. Additional tournaments may be attended by individual teams. Tournaments are considered an integral part of development of the NCSC players. When participating in tournaments which allow guest players, the coach reserves the right to invite guest players to maintain the team's competitive position or to substitute for players unable to participate due to injury or emergency.

Attendance Policy:
There are two practices per week. Both will be between one and half and two hours long. Games are played on Sundays and are scheduled between 11:00am and 4:00pm. There may also be the occasional Saturday game. Each season is roughly 8-10 weeks long. It is imperative that all practices and games are attended each week so the team can develop and function as a whole. Parents and players should understand this commitment before electing to play for a club team if offered a roster spot.

Parent Participation:
Parent participation is an important part of the program. Fees include instructional costs, insurance, league fees, referees, NCSC dues, tournament fees, State Cup fees, team administration fees, and league administrative fees. All fees must be paid in order for a player to participate.

If you have any question please feel free to call or e-mail us.

Who should try out?

Norwalk Community Soccer Club ( NCSC ) encourages all players with any interest to try out and find out about the program.

What about the cost for travel teams?

It is more expensive in relation to the recreational program.  NCSC is one of the most affordable clubs in the state of Connecticut who offer travel programs.  Each team has a volunteer soccer coach, therefore does not incur additional costs.  Coaches in the NCSC league come to us from various parts of the world and are very passionate about soccer.  The club also offers indoor training throughout the Winter as well as 2 tournaments per year.

What about the commitment?

You will be expected to attend every practice, game and tournament, except in case of ill health or unavoidable family events. However commitment is a matter of attitude and self dicipline rather than counting practice absences. NCSC players are very committed to their team and very rarely actually ever miss events because they really love being there: soccer is a passion for them.

What about driving to practices, games and tournaments?

All our teams have a great ‘family’ atmosphere amongst the parents and players.  Any players needing a ride to a practice, game or to a tournament will be offered from other parents on the team.

What are the benefits of playing for NCSC.

You will learn to play much better soccer in an organized but friendly club where everyone works hard as well as having a lot of fun. You will get to play against some of the best travel teams in the Southwest District in CT.
